Hollywood Grooming Marks 25 Years of Helping LA’s Shelter Dogs
On September 24, 2026, we gathered in West Hollywood to mark something we still find hard to believe: 25 years of Go Hollywood Grooming. What began in 2001 with Chuck and Yael Rubin and a single grooming van is now a fleet of luxury mobile spa vans across Los Angeles, a full-service store in Burbank, and a nonprofit that has changed the odds for thousands of shelter pets.
The evening was hosted by content creator and animal advocate Kate Steinberg, who has long used her platform to push adoption and rescue. Our groomers — the people who actually do this work, week after week — were honored for their service, and we raised funds toward an additional grooming truck dedicated entirely to shelter work.
What 25 years adds up to
Through our nonprofit, the Hollywood Rescue Grooming Foundation, we have groomed more than 5,000 shelter pets for free since 2015. Every week, our vans and volunteer groomers deploy to partner shelters across Los Angeles County at no cost to the shelter.
The reason we keep doing it is simple, and it is the statistic we are proudest of: 89% of the pets we groom are adopted or fostered within days. A matted, frightened dog gets passed over. The same dog, clean and calm and able to make eye contact, gets taken home. Grooming is not cosmetic for a shelter animal — it is often the thing that makes someone stop at the kennel door.
In the press
We were grateful to see the milestone covered by several outlets:

Thank you
To every client who has booked a groom with us over 25 years: you are the reason the shelter work happens. Every appointment on a Go Hollywood van helps fund a free groom for a pet who has no one booking for them. To our groomers, our volunteers, our shelter partners and the rescues we work alongside — thank you. Here’s to the next 25 years, one bath at a time.
