Grooming That Gives Back
Every groom we do helps a pet who can’t pay for one. For more than twenty years, our team has been taking the vans out to shelters, rescue partners and community events across Los Angeles — grooming animals for free, because a clean, comfortable dog is a dog far more likely to get adopted.
Business Angel of the Year 2025
The Los Angeles Business Journal named Go Hollywood Grooming Business Angel of the Year — recognition for what has always mattered most to us. As the Journal put it, we’re more than a pet service provider: for thousands of animals and their owners across Los Angeles, the vans are a lifeline.
From city shelters to the streets, we’ve provided free grooming to the pets of unhoused individuals, low-income families and military veterans. In 2024 alone our fleet served pets at the Burbank, Mission Hills and East Valley Animal Shelters — care that changes not just how an animal looks, but its chances of being adopted.
Santa Paws Miracle Makeovers
Our largest single effort to date. On December 14, 2024, more than 25 groomers and volunteers gathered at the East Valley Shelter and groomed 99 dogs in one day — every one of them a shelter animal waiting for a home.
The Hollywood Rescue Grooming Foundation
Our nonprofit, the Hollywood Rescue Grooming Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) that organizes volunteer professional groomers to provide free grooming at animal shelters and rescue groups. Every week, a fleet of mobile vans and a team of volunteer groomers deploy to a partner shelter.
By volunteering our grooming services through the Foundation, we help make a difference in each pet’s life — and give them a genuine shot at a family.
The Doggy Makeover Show
Every dog deserves to feel like a star, especially the ones who have been forgotten or left behind. The Doggy Makeover Show is our real-life transformation series featuring shelter dogs facing hardship, neglect or abandonment.
It isn’t about cute haircuts. Many of the dogs we work with haven’t been touched in months, and the mats we gently remove are more than physical discomfort — they’re a record of what the animal has survived. Every dog featured is up for adoption, and after their groom they often find a home within days.
Serving unhoused neighbors and their pets
Chuck and Yael Rubin have led this work personally for years. Our team has had the privilege of working with the Skid Row community in Downtown LA, and we continue those efforts through the Foundation and our outreach programs.
We’ve also visited North Hollywood’s Hope of the Valley Homeless Services Navigation Center to provide free grooming for residents’ pets. For someone with very little, a pet is often everything — and keeping that animal healthy and comfortable matters enormously.
Rescue partners and community events
We’ve worked alongside Real Time Rescue, a Los Angeles and Morongo Basin animal welfare organization, and sponsored Race For The Rescues for eight consecutive years — a day when animal lovers run, walk or adopt to help save homeless dogs, cats, horses and farm animals across Southern California, with 100% of net proceeds going to local animal welfare organizations.
We’ve also answered the call for the Red Cross after local fires, and supported the Rescue Train’s intervention programs.
